Abstract

251,174. Harvey, C. J., and Hamilton, A. Oct. 15, 1925. Carpet-sweepers.-A carpet-sweeper comprises a casing 1, dust-pan 7 and rotary brush 13 which may be formed of bristles mounted as described in Specification 253,802, [Class 8 (i), Air and gases, Compressing &c.]. The brush is preferably rotated solely by movement of the sweeper. The bristles are carried tangentially or radially or at some intermediate position, and yield when contacting with the carpet, the resiliency of the bristles flicking the dust into the pan. A strip 10 of sponge rubber or other material is carried in a recess in the pan. The brush is held in position by a wire yoke member 19.
