Abstract

391,160. Vehicle wheels. HIPPER, S. J., 34, Union Street, Brunswick, and SHORT, E., 47, Amelia Avenue, North Essenden, both in Victoria, Australia. Oct. 19, 1931, No. 28985. [Class 144 (i).] A resilient wheel comprises a central carrier member rigidly attached to the hub and supported by a small number of short tubes or like rings of rubber or like material which are themselves supported by an outer carrier member rigidly connected to the rim of the wheel, the short tubes or like rings being detachably engaged with the carrier members without the use of bolts or screws. As shown, the wheel comprises carrier members 2, 4, which are rigidly attached to the rim 3 and a plate 5 secured to the boss 6 of the brake drum respectively, and are provided with lugs 2a, 4a for supporting rubber rings 7, which are retained in position by plates 8, 9. The carrier member 2 is also provided with seating members 15 for accommodating the rings 7.
