Abstract
244,706. Bilhartz, C. Dec. 22, 1924, [Convention date]. Beat-up motions.-In a loom for weaving ribbons &c., one or more reeds 7 are carried by a lay 6 pivoted at 6<1> and oscillated by levers 5 and grooved cams 3 on a shaft 2, these cams being shaped to give a dwell to the lay, and whilst this occurs the shuttles are picked by fibre wheels 10 actuated by wheels 10' a rack 11 and a stud 13 engaging a cam groove 12<1> in a drum or cylinder 12 on the shaft 2. The cam groove is so formed as to retain the stud 13 stationary during half the revolution of the drum &c. 12, so that the shuttles are stationary whilst the beat up occurs.
