Abstract

Monoazo dyes produced from an unsulphonated aromatic diazo-compound of the benzene or naphthalene series containing at least one nitro-group, and diethylaniline-m-sulphonic acid or a derivative thereof are used for dyeing cellulose esters and ethers. In an example acetate silk is dyed a fast golden-yellow the dyestuff 3-nitro-2-methyl-1-aminobenzene --> diethylaniline-m-sulphonic acid. Other dyestuffs specified are those from diazotized 4-chloro-2-nitraniline or 3-nitraniline-6-carboxylic acid ester for orange tints and from diazotized 2.4-dinitraniline for reddish-violet shades.ALSO:Cellulose esters and ethers are dyed with monazo dyestuffs produced from an unsulphonated aromatic diazo-compound of the benzene or naphthalene series containing at least one nitro-group, and diethyl-aniline-m-sulphonic acid or a derivative thereof. In an example acetate silk is dyed at 60-70 DEG C. in a dyebath containing the dyestuff 3-nitro-2-methyl-1-aminobenzene-->diethylaniline-m - sulphonic acid with or without a salt or acid or protective colloid to obtain a fast golden-yellow. Other dyestuffs specified are those from diazotized 4-chloro-2-nitraniline or 3-nitraniline-6-carboxylic acid ester for orange tints and from diazotized 2 : 4-dinitraniline for reddish-violet shades.
