Foot-arch supports.-In order to protect a boot or shoe from injury due to a metal foot-arch support d, the latter is provided with a protector which in the form shown in Fig. 1 consists of a leather strip a which is stitched at b to the cover c of the support and masks the fore edge of the metal plate d. The strip a is skived round the edges. Fig. 3 shows a modification in which the protector e is removable, being attached to the support by a strap f which passes between the metal plate d and cover c. The back part of the protector shown in Fig. 1 is cut away as shown at h to allow access to the metal plate, for adjustment purposes.
