Disc wheels. - A wheel, composed of sheet metal halfmembers a extending to the wheel nave and permanently connected together as, for instance, bv welding, is formed with a rim having a central annular well b<1> closed at its base by an annular circumferential member b. Flanges c on the member b preferably reinforce, and may be welded to, the inwardly curled extended edges a<1> of the sheaves a as shown, the edges a<1> lying at the sides of the base portion of the inflated tyre. In a modification, the member b is dispensed with, each spoke being closed at its rim end by a disc or plate which may be secured by welding. Specification 243,659 is referred to.
