Abstract
242,739. Metallbank und Metallurgische Ges. Akt.-Ges., and Gensecke, W. Sept. 17,1924. Purifying oils and fats.-In a process of purifying oils and fats in vacuo by steam or the like, of the type described in Specification 222,093, the steam and vapours from the extracting vessel a are transferred by a steam injector of the type described in Specification 237,309, [Class 71, Injectors &c.], which causes them to expand to an absolute pressure lower than that prevailing in the vessel a, prior to their delivery to the mixing chamber f of the injector. The vapours &c. are fianlly condensed in a condenser l. The extracting steam &c. enters by a rose or perforated tube b, and is transferred together with the exhaust steam of the injector o to a receiver i, and thence to the injection-condenser e. One or more further extracting vessels may be interposed between the injector and the condenser, and are placed between the injector exit g and the receiver i.
