Abstract

240,924. Granton, L. E. July 10, 1924. Pulp, preparation of; pulp, adding special substances to.-The wastage, obtained in de-inking newspapers and the like, containing carbon black and the like, filling materials and de-inking agents, and a large proportion of pulp, is mixed with paper pulp which can be sulphite pulp, sulphite waste paper in the form of pulp, or mechanical pulp, or mixtures of the same, in the production of paper suitable for packing paper, wrapping paper for magazines, &c., hand bills, tickets, &c. Colours and bleaching agents may be added and the strength of the product may be increased by the addition of rubber latex to the pulp. The present process may be worked in conjunction with the de-inking process described in Specification 222,160.
