Abstract

262,270. Winestock, O. C. Dec. 10. 1925. Pulping-engines. - In pulping and de-inking waste paper, the material, mixed with water, with or without a detergent for de-inking and cleansing, is subjected to the action of a multiplicity of substantially equal and opposite forces produced for example by blades of opposite pitch on individual propellers coacting with corresponding blades on adjacent propellers on the same shaft 11 and also on adjacent propellers on one or more companion shafts 9. A relatively smaller amount of liquid is used with this apparatus. A hopper is provided at one end and a discharge at the other, the operation of the apparatus being continuous and the feed therethrough being by gravity.
