Abstract

769,106. Continuous-discharge mixing- machines. BEKEN, H. F. July 12, 1955 [Aug. 26, 1954], No. 24868/54. Class 86. A mixing machine comprises a container 1 housing two shafts 4 provided with blades 9 of helical form, each blade having at least one concave surface, the blades intermeshing and being rotated at different speeds in opposite directions. The pitches and speeds of the blades are preferably in the ratio of 2 to 1. The shafts have external meshing gears 6, 7 driven from a shaft 10. The container 1 has an inlet 11 at one end from which material is impelled by the blades 9 to an outlet 12 at the other end. The worms may be tapered and have inclined axes. Specification 440,794 is referred to.
