Cigarette - making machines.-In continuous-rod machines the paper web a after being printed or supplied with tipping material is led around rollers b, c the size of the loop so formed being adjustable in order to regulate the position of severance of the cigarette. The rollers b, c are mounted on a worm-wheel f engaged by a worm m on a spindle l. The spindle is connected by bevel gearing n, o with a spindle p which is rotatable manually to effect the required adjustment. The spindle p is frictionally held against undesired rotation by a spring keeping the bevel wheel o pressed against the spindle bearing.
