Abstract

240,082. Pomp, A. April 7, 1925. Drawing; working at specified temperatures.- Iron alloys containing 4 or more per cent silicon are worked into ribbons, sheets, wires or rods by rolling or drawing &c. the alloy while it is maintained at a temperature of 50-250‹ C. according to the silicon content. The alloy may be heated to the required temperature by placing it in a casing heated by coal, gas, electricity &c., or it may be heated by liquid or molten metal baths. The parts of the working apparatus coming into contact with the alloy may also be heated.
