Abstract

239,729. Siegenthaler, E. R. Oct. 21, 1924. Shaft couplings of the kind in which spiral springs 50 singly or in pairs connect arms such as 1, 3, 6, Figs. A and B, on one coupling member 5 to arms 2, 4, 7 on the other member 8. Each spring 50 is formed with a loop 60, Fig. J, at each end, which loop is passed over a bolt 66, Figs. M and P, carried by one of the coupling arms and clamped fast so that relative motion on the bolt with attendant destructive friction is eliminated. The spring ends are further supported by rigid members 68, Fig. M, and 77, Fig. P.
