Abstract

239,538. Werneman, H. H. E. Sept. 5, 1924, [Convention date]. Rotary disc valves.-An oil can of the kind tapering upwards to a neck is provided with a closure which can be opened after the can is inverted and the neck placed in the filling opening of the vessel to be filled. The closure comprises two or more discs 3, 7 openings in which can be brought into or out of register by a spindle 6 passing through a tube 5 secured fluid-tight at the top and bottom to the container and operated by a handle 11 pressed down by a spring 12 and provided with a pointer to indicate whether the valve is open or closed. The edge of the disc 3 is bent dcwn and secured in the joint of the neck.
