Abstract
237,917. Ruinnet, Y. Aug. 1, 1924, [Convention date]. Parallel machines.-Pattern combs for use in Dubied and other machines are built up of elements 5 strung on a rod 4 and retained by members 1 - - 3 and spring clips 6. A number of combs with elements 5 arranged according to the pattern required are first prepared, then, at each course the appropriate comb is used to push up the needles required to knit with a particular yarn by means of the groups 5a, 5c, 5e, and 5g. After the selected needles have knitted, the remaining needles are pushed up by using the back of the comb, the groups 5b, 5d and 5f being thus brought into action. The remaining needles then knit with yarn of a different colour, a complete row of stitches in two colours being thus obtained. The end elements 7, 7<1> are slightly larger than the elements 5 and do not engage needles but serve as guides to position the comb.
