Abstract

237,723. B.S.A. Guns, Ltd., and Norman, G. July 19, 1924. Machine guns. - Relates to automatic guns having a fixed barrel and a sliding and rotary breech-bolt formed with locking lugs 10 inclined at such an angle that the unlocking rotation is produced by the back pressure and consists of means for effecting the locking rotation, and for unlocking and retracting the bolt by hand, comprising a non-rotary spring- pressed slide 5 having a lug 8 engaging a helical slot 9 in a hollow stem part of the breech-bolt 7. As shown, the slide is formed with rack-teeth 4 engaged by a toothed drum 3 containing a flat spiral return spring 1. The firing pin 14 is mounted on the lug 8. The slide can be handoperated by means of a handle inserted in a slot in the slide.
