Abstract

237,502. White, A. E., (Fafnir Bearing Co.). Jan. 13, 1925. Semi-elliptic springs.-In an arrangement in which a vehicle spring end 2 is connected to the vehicle 1 by links 4 housing anti-friction bearings for pins 3 on the members 1, 2, each link 4 has a longitudinal channel formed by an integral flange, the channel merging into the recesses for the bearings at opposite ends of the link. As shown, the links 4, Fig. 1, are spaced by a sleeve 5<a> and bolt 5 and the pins 3 are shouldered to engage bearings balls 7 carried in a race ring 6. Wear is taken up by shortening the sleeve 5<a>. A washer 8 which excludes dust may be of felt or like material to hold lubricant. In a modification, Fig. 3, the balls bear directly in the recesses in the links 4<a> and the dust-excluding washer has an extension 8<a>. Specification 191,617 is referred to.
