Abstract

221,789. Krupp Germaniawerft Akt.- Ges., A. Sept. 10, 1923, [Convention date]. Thrust bearings with tiltable bearing segments for pressure-film lubrication. The segments are tilted by the action of the load independently of the pressure of the lubricant. As shown in Fig. 1<a>, thrust segments b<1> are mounted throughout their whole length on a resilient ring B, which may be divided, and which rests by radial ribs b<2> on the housing C. The ribs b<2> may be formed either on the ring B or on the housing C. The segments b<1> are positioned between the ribs b<2> so that, when under load, the segments are tilted with respect to the thrust collar A, as shown. In the form shown in Fig. 3<a>, the siegments b<1> are arranged on separate members E between a tilting edge e<1> and a spring D. When under load, the segments are tilted as shown against the action of the springs D.
