Abstract
236,417. Mitchell, J., and Cossey, J. C. G. Sept. 15, 1924. Combined buffer and draw-gear.-In a central buffer coupling in which the draw and buffing springs are held in sockets 5<a>, 6<a>, 9<a>, the lateral flanged portions down to the base of all the sockets are removed in order to prevent grinding between the sockets and springs when the vehicles are relatively inclined. The ferrule 19, which permits the draw-bar 1 to deflect about the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, has an internal boring which conforms throughout its length to the cross-section of the draw-bar, and its side and end surfaces are of barrel-shape formation.
