Abstract
244,588. K³rt÷ssy, L. Dec. 29, 1924. Couplings, automatic; combined buffer and draw. gear.-In a central buffer coupling in which the heads are guided into contact by two diametricallyopposed projections on the heads, each projection Vo, Vu, Fig. 4. is constituted by two guiding surfaces 1, 4 and 2, 3 respectively extending from one side of the head to the other, the surfaces 1, 3 being inclined to the vertical central plane and the surfaces 2, 4 to the horizontal central plane, whereby abutments are formed between the projections having the negative form of the latter. Each head is provided with a pin B, Fig. 10, having a wedgeshaped end 5 which, in the lock position of the coupling, engages a correspondingly inclined surface 6 on the opposing coupling head. In Fig. 8, the inclined surfaces 1 - - 4 are stepped at 11, 12 in the vertical and horizontal longitudinal planes of the coupling respectively.
