Abstract
236,221. Klein, A. June 26, 1924, [Convention date]. Feeding-devices for endless-chain elevators; rotary elevators.-Material is held on the drum a by which it is fed to the elevator b either by magnetic attraction, Fig. 2, or by suction, Fig. 3. In each construction the axle e of the drum is pivotally mounted in links c pivotally mounted on the shaft d of the lower drum of the elevator, and the drum is driven from this roller by chain- and-sprocket gearing. The adjustment of the links c is limited by stops f. The magnet g, Fig. 2 is secured to the links c and is of such length that the material is released at a position where it will fall into the elevator. A partition h, Fig. 3, is mounted within the drum so as not to rotate with it. The surface of the drum is provided with funnel-shaped openings m, and its interior to the left of the partition h, Fig. 3, is in communication with a suction pipe i. The suction may be increased by a screen t mounted on extensions of the links c.
