Class 86 In a mixing apparatus a stirrer spindle 12 depends from a casing 7 which is secured to a main shaft 1 turnable in a bearing 2. A sprocket 11 is carried by the shaft 12, a sprocket 9 is fixed to the bearing 2 and a sprocket chain 11 engages the sprockets 9 and 11 so that planetary motion is imparted to the stirrer spindle 12 as the main shaft rotates. A balance weight 15 is provided on the casing 11 opposite to the spindle 12.
