Abstract

235,794. Vass, A. F. Jan. 7, 1925. Vibration-dampers incorporated in the shackle connections of laminated springs of vehicles comprise. pairs of coned discs B, B<1> and G, G<1> each formed with two holes one of which is concentric with the periphery of the disc, the discs B, B<1> being lined with friction material E, E<1> As shown, a bolt D, provided with an adjusting nut and indicator D<1> is passed through the concentric holes in both pairs of discs and through the eye of the spring F, and a bolt C is passed through the other holes of the discs B, B<1> and through the shackle bearing A on the vehicle frame. The discs G are held to the spring F by a pin H passing through the non-central holes in the discs and secured to the spring by a stirrup or U-bolt. In an alternative method of application the bolts D, C, mounted in the same holes in the discs as described above, are respectively passed through the bearing A and the eye of the spring, the discs G being held to the frame by a pin passing through their non-central holes.
