Tamping machines; moulds. - In concreteblock moulding machines of the type in which the mould-box A is provided with a hinged tamping- cover C and a slidable bottom B adapted to eject the block by means of a foot-lever p, flange-pieces dare adjustably secured in the box according to the depth of the block to be moulded. Slots formed in the flange-pieces d enable adjustment to be made by nuts and bolts c passing through the mould-box sides. The bottom plate B may have rods g projecting from its underside and adapted to work in holes in the flange-pieces. As an additional means of adjusting the depth of articles being moulded, the uprights, of which there may be one or more, connecting the foot-lever p and bottom plate B may be in two parts, bolted together. Each upright has a slot which is engaged by a fixed rod r, but where one upright only is used it may pass through a slot formed in the rod r. The cover C is provided with handles h and is hinged to a part f of the box.
