Moulding bricks.-Relates to multiple moulds for forming bricks from cement and sand, and comprises a bed plate B, a hinged front side D, a fixed side E, and division plates I, which are connected to a rocking member J and fit into slits E<3> in the side E and between bosses D<1> on the hinged side D. The material in the moulds is strickled by a plate K, Fig. 3, which rests against the rear part of the mould during filling and serves as part of a hopper. This plate is recessed at K<1> so that it can be reversed to leave a mound of material above each mould for receiving a pattern. The material is tamped by a series of plates H carried by arms G mounted in bearings P and brought down on to the material by means of arms M, stops N serving to limit the amount of tamping. The steps N and bearings P are adjustable so that the size of the bricks may be varied. In using the apparatus, a pallet board C is placed upon the bed-plate B and the hinged side D and division plates I are secured in position. The cement mixture is then run in, and is strickled and tamped, and the division plates I are then withdrawn by means of a handle O, the plates H serving as stripping-plates to preserve the face of the block. The plates H are then withdrawn, and the side D is let down and the pallet C removed and a fresh one substituted.
