Switches, without quick action; contacts.-A switch comprises a pair of spaced insulating discs, one movable relatively to the other, one or more pairs of spring plunger contacts on one disc, a strip metal contact arm on the same disc in conjunction with each pair of plunger contacts and one or more contact studs on the second disc, the plunger contacts being adapted to co-operate with the studs while the contact arms are maintained in continuous connection with the studs to complete one or more selected circuits. In the two-way switch shown, the disc 1 bears on a collar 4 on a fixed tube 3 which is clamped by washers 4a and a nut 7 having slots 7<a> for engagement with a turning implement. Rotatable in the tube 3 is a spindle 5 carrying a movable disc 2 on which are mounted contacts 12 engaged by plunger contacts 11 on the disc 1. To each terminal 12 is secured a wire or strip 13 engaged by a strip 15 pertaining to each of the input terminals 16. By rotation of the disc 2 a quarter-turn, Fig. 3, either of the pairs of terminals 9a, 9<b> may be connected to the input 16 by way of the strips 15, 13 and contacts 12, 11, and in an intermediate position the latter will be disconnected to break the circuit. A pin and-slot connection 17, 18 acts as stops and a scale and pointer may be provided.
