Abstract

375,044. Snap-action switches. SEROPOULOS, S., 13, St. Anne Street, Liverpool. -(Pascalides, D. ; 140, Queensberry Street, Carlton, Victoria, Australia.) May 26, 1931, No; 15349. [Class 38 (v).] A dead-centre toggle switch comprises a contact arm 1 fixed on a spindle 2 which is journalled in a U-shaped bracket 3 carried by the base 4. An insulating operating lever is rigidly fixed on the spindle 2 and a snap action is provided by a spring 6 on a link which slides in a slot 7 in the brackets, and acts on a lug 5 on the contact arm. The ends of the contact arm are split at 12, 13 to form contacts for engaging split sockets 8, 9 mounted by means of the wiring terminals on brackets 14. A cover (not shown) is held in place by a nut on an extension of the bracket 3.
