Abstract

732,701. Switch contacts. DORMAN & SMITH, Ltd. Jan. 19, 1954 [Jan. 30, 1953], No. 2669/53. Class 38 (5). The fixed contact of a switch comprises a fixed part 9 and a part 12 pivoted thereon, the part 12 being biased by a spring or springs 14 and being engaged by a movable contact 19 having a rounded end so that as the contact 19 moves down the part 12 rocks around its end to shift the point of engagement from an initial to a final position. The part 12 has a hemi-spherical portion 11 pivoting in a recess 10 in the part 9 and has adjusting screws 18 engaging a recess 17 in an insulating support 8.
