Water-tube boilers. -In a boiler having front and rear rows of water-tubes c<1>, c<2> connected to the ends of an upper longitudinal drum a and to a lower transverse drum b, some or all of the tubes in the rear row so penetrate into the cold zone of the lower drum as to produce a vigorous circulation around the lower drum and along the upper drum. The lower ends of the rear tubes may be bent as shown. The bent tube ends may be replaced by correspondingly shaped baffles.
