Artificial lines. - A network for balancing a loaded line is constructed as indicated in Fig. 3, and while the ratio L/C Lk is kept equal to -, where L, C are the total in- Ck ductance and capacity of the circuit L, K, K, shown in Fig. 3, and Lk, Ck are the inductance and capacity per section of the line, L is made equal to 0.84 x Lk and C to 0.84 x Ck, so that LC = 0.7 LkCk. The line is closed by a resistance R roughly equal to #L/C, and a resistance r is added as shown.
