Valves actuated indirectly.-A double drinking trough for cattle has each compartment supplied with water by a valve adapted to be opened by means of a flap p moved by the animal, each valve being secured in position by having its casing k inserted from below into the waterchamber h and clamped therein by a nut m bearing against the upper casing of the water chamber. The valve consists of a casing k, which the water enters through lateral openings preferably arranged above the bottom of the water-chamber, and a valve cone n with a stem passing into a sleeve guide m<1> formed on the nut m. The flap p is pivoted on the casing and carries a pin r provided with a roll s to engage the lower end of the valve cone. The chamber h is supplied with water by the pipes f, g. Foreign bodies in the water are deposited at the bottom of the chamber h.
