Abstract

233,928. Heidet, A. July 14, 1924. Scaffolding and staging for use on stairs and other uneven surfaces consists of uprights a interconnected by longitudinal slotted tie-bars c, and others bars d connect the tie-bars to the uprights. The uprights at each end are connected by stays b and two diagonally arranged uprights are provided with adjustable feet so that their levels may be adjusted on stairs. The uprights are adapted to support a staging at varying heights by means of cross-bars e<2>. The staging may be formed of a ladder with steps pivoted to the sides and, when used horizontally, the steps are maintained in a horizontal position by means of a plank suspended by chains l beneath the steps.
