Abstract

233,851. Stone, W. L. April 10, 1924. Centrifugal machines.-In concrete pipe &c. machines in which the mould is carried by revoluble end rings, the rings 1, 2 are supported at a fixed distance apart, each upon a pair of driven idlers 3 and by an upper idler 3<b> and the ring 1 is of an internal diameter to permit passage of the mould 7 therethrough, and is furnished with adjustable means for clamping the mould against the ring 2 and supporting it during the spinning operation. As shown, the mould is passed through the ring 1 socket foremost until the flange 22 abuts against the interior of the ring 2, the mould being then forced into position by a cover 12 recessed interiorly to engage the mould and positioned by pins 13 and secured by cotters 14 ; the leading end of the mould is securely held by angle bolts 15 carried by the ring 2. In a. modification, the cover 12 is replaced by segmental plates. The mould is carried into and out of position upon a trolly 5 furnished with supporting-blocks 8 telescopically supported between plates 9 upon pins 10, the blocks being successively lowered to pass the ring 1.
