640,130. Rotary and rocking furnaces. SMIDTH & CO. AKTIESELSKAB, F. L. June 8, 1948, No. 15475. Convention date, June 13, 1947. [Class 51(ii)] . The "live" ring 4, which engages the supporting rollers of a rotary or rocking furnace, is mounted on the furnace drum 1 by means of a number of closely-spaced supporting rings 6. welded to the drum, and a series of intermediate plates 7 extending parallel to the drum axis. The plates 7 are welded to the two central supporting rings, and alternate plates carry blocks 8 or 9 to limit the axial displacement of the ring 4. Distance pieces may be inserted between the rings 6.
