Thermionic valve circuits are so arranged that the filament heating current and the grid and plate potentials are all supplied by a single battery B with two terminals, tappings being taken from suitable points on two resistances W1, W2, in circuit with the battery. Thus the battery B may be connected to the resistances W1, W2 by variable tappings 1, 4, while further tappings 3, 2 are provided for the plate circuit and the high resistance or inductance R which shunts the secondary of the transformer M. The resistances W1, W2 may be embodied in the valve or panel. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also an arrangement in which the tappings 3, 4 are replaced by permanent connections at the right-hand end of the resistance W2, the telephone being then connected adjacently to the battery instead of to the plate. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
