Spraying travelling materials.-The spraying- nozzles 2 of a machine for dewing or damping fabrics are inclined so that the sprays are projected on to the material 3 passing upwardly before the row of nozzles, at an acute angle to tHe width of the fabric; the air-nozzles 2 are arranged horizontally, and their ends are positioned above the usual liquid pipes 1. By arranging the sprays in this manner, more even distribution of the moisture is effected, the centre portions of adjacent sprays overlapping, while the outer or diffused portions of alternate sprays merge into one another.
