Abstract

239,481. Textile et Filature, (formerly Compagnie Continentale du Kapok Soc. Anon.). Sept. 2, 1924, [Convention date]. Carding-engines.-A machine for the treatment of kapok comprises a perforated drum b through which a current of air is drawn, cylinders e with metallic bristles to maintain the layer of fibrous material in contact with the drum, and a brush cylinder k with bristles of animal or vegetable origin. The fibre is fed in by a belt h between feed rollers c, d and is withdrawn by rollers f, g and a belt i. The rollers e rotate at a surface speed about equal to or slightly less than that of the drum.
