Abstract

Glycines of non-sulphonated aromatic bases, including basic dyestuffs containing a free amino-group, are described for dyeing cellulose esters and examples include the use of the glycines of aminoazobenzene, 1 : 4-diaminoanthraquinone, 1 : 4-aminooxyanthraquinone and of 1 : 4 : 5 : 8-tetraminoanthraquinone. Specifications 182,830, [Class 15 (ii), Dyeing, Processes &c. for], 202,157, and 207,711 are referred to.ALSO:Cellulose esters are dyed by means of glycines of non-sulphonated aromatic bases, including basic dyestuffs containing a free amino-group, and if necessary diazotizing the compound on the fibre and developing. In examples a violet-black is obtained by treating acetyl silk with the glycine of a -naphthylamine, diazotizing and developing with b -oxynaphthoic acid; a yellow tint is obtained on cellulose acetate by means of the glycine of aminoazobenzene; violet with the glycine of 1.4-diaminoanthraquinone; and blue and reddish violet respectively with the glycines of 1.4.5.8-tetraminoanthraquinone and of 1-amino-4-oxyanthraquinone. In all cases an acid, salt or protective colloid may be added to the dyebath. Specifications 182,830, 202,157, and 207,711 are referred to.
