Abstract

Nov. 24, 1924 Locking nuts. - A self - locking nut is formed by making an incision 11 in the face of a nut-blank, drilling and tapping the bolthole 13 and subjecting the nut to pressure to close the ends of the incision 11 as indicaited in Fig. 4. The bolt-hole 13 converges in the vicinity of the cut 11 after the nut has been compressed and assumes an oval shape.
