Abstract

231,995. Skov, H. March 4, 1924. Cupping.-Work-holding rings 7 of presses for cupping and drawing sheet metal &c., are supported by pneumatic pressure acting through a liquid seal. The ring is carried by pillars 8 supported on the coverplate 10 of a cylinder 12 which slides over a stationary plunger 14, fluidtight joints being provided between the plunger and cylinder. The plunger is hollow and is connected by a channel 18 with a pneumatic receiver.
