231,799. Haddan, A. J. H., (Karl, H.). Dec. 5, 1923. Radial-flow (unbladed) type; heating parts; working-fluid supply.-Steam flows from a hollow rotor shaft 11<a>, Fig. 3, through hollow rotor arms 13b terminating in nozzles 29a which coact with a grooved stator, the arms 13b, according to the invention, being heated by electrical resistances 151a. The hollow arms may take the form of a series of spherical chambers 15a, 16a, Fig. 1, which are electrically heated, exhaust taking place through stator pipes 35a, 36a, 36b. Before admission to the rotor shaft the steam mav be superheated electrically in a chamber surrounding the shaft. Specification 231,560 is referred to.
