Securing together machine elements for the transmission of rotary motion.-In internal-combustion engines, particularly of the type described in Specifications 229,692 and 230,819, [booth in Class 7 (vi), Internal-combustion engines, Valves &c. for], the cam shaft is made in two halves 1, 2, which are coupled together by the engagement of longitudinal grooves 3 in the shafts with corresponding projections in the hub 4 of the gear wheel 5. Correct assembling of the shafts is ensured by making one 8 of the grooves and projections wider than the rest.
