Abstract

2-4 per cent of easily combustible hydrogenated aromatic compound of boiling point higher than 150 DEG C. e.g. hexahydronaphthalene, decahydronaphthalene, or hexahydrophenol, is added to gasoline, ligroine, petroleum ether or light hydrocarbon to reduce loss by evaporation in storage or transport. The mixtures are used as motor spirits and for making extracts.
