Abstract

229,709. Lotte, L. P. C. May 29, 1923, [Convention date]. Endless - - track vehicles.- Railway vehicles are provided with wheels 12 of ordinary road-wheel form running freely within larger annular rail-wheels or rings 1, relative side movements between the two wheels being checked by side-plates 6, 7 resiliently connected either to the outer or the inner wheel. The inner wheel bears by means of balls 8 against the side plates which are connected to the outer wheel by spring means, flexible strips, or corrugated members. The balls 8 may be resiliently mounted. A leather or other band 2 may be provided on the inner path of the wheel 1, or this band may rotate freely between the two wheels. The side plates 6, 7 may be faced with cork or other noise-deadening material. Vanes 5 may be provided on the sides to cause currents of air to pass through the wheels when travelling in either direction.
