229,082. Clarke, L. S. Feb. 6, 1924. Addition to 177,712. Sparking-plugs.-In plugs of the type described in the parent Specification, in which the central electrode passes through a metal tube A, the outside surface of the tube being tapered and covered with mica wrappings B, a thin metal sheath K, preferably copper, is interposed between the mica wrappings and the gland or sleeve C in which the electrode and its insulation are carried. The gland C may be formed with a shallow screw-thread on its internal surface, and may be conical externally; in this case a layer of mica H may be placed between the sleeve C' and the plug casing G<1>.
