Abstract

140,733. Burrill, E. F., Grubb, S. E., and Nankivell, T. E. Dec. 24, 1919. Sparking-plugs.-Consists in the employment of a pair of rings d, d' with interengaging conical surfaces, which, when the rings are pressed into the upper half c of the outer metal body, causes the insulation b to be pressed tightly against the central pin a. The insulation is preferably made of laminations of mica, and a ferrule e with indentations f is interposed between the insulation and the rings. The lower half g of the outer body is screwed to the upper half c and the connexion is made tight by a lead washer i, or by interengaging conical surfaces on the parts c, g. The wire m is secured to the pin a by means of two nuts k over a porcelain cap in the usual way.
