Abstract

147,370. Longton, H. Sept. 9, 1919. Sparking-plugs. - Relates to plugs in which the central electrode :3 i,s insulated by a conical sleeve of steatite, porcelain, or the like 9 secured to the plug body 1 by an internally conical gland 7, with the interposition of a thin packing. According to the invention, a packing constituted by a wrapping of mica 8 extends below the gland and, preferably, also above it, where it is also surrounded by a second insulating sleeve 10, the several parts being clamped together between an enlarged head 4 at the inner end of the central electrode and a nut 11 at the outer end.
