Abstract

181,954. Trova, O. June 4, 1921. Sparking-plugs; external spark-gaps. - An auxiliary spark-gap is formed within the plug, the two portions of the divided central electrode being yieldingly pressed towards each other by a spring 33. The inner portion of the electrode is mounted in the insulator 15; the outer portion is supported within an insulating member 21 cemented or otherwise secured within the bushing 12. The auxiliary spark-gap is formed within the recess 32 in the end of the conductor 29 which slidably engages the bush 23. A recess 34 and projections 35 act as guides.
