Direct air pressure apparatus, automatic. - In liquid-raising apparatus of the kind described in Specification 217,654, means, such as an oscillating valve G, is operated automatically at the end of each operation of the operating chambers A, A<x> first to place to atmosphere the air conduit B of the chamber A that has just been emptied, next to open this conduit to the other conduit B<x> to equalize the pressures therein, then to connect the latter conduit to atmosphere, and finally to shut off communication between the air conduits and between them and atmosphere. The casing G<1> of the valve has ports g, g<1> communicating with the pipes B. B<x>, and a port g<2> open to atmosphere. The valve G may be operated by the valve E controlling the inflow and outflow of liquid to and from the chambers A, A<x>. According to the Provisional Specification, the invention may be applied to apparatus of the kind described in Specification 227,242.
