Abstract

227,400. Credle, W. C., and O'Neal, C. S. Nov. 3, 1924. Protecting covers.- In guards for valves of the kind comprising a box-like housing covering the handle so as to prevent unauthorized tampering therewith, the housing 4 is provided on either side of the valve casing with curved pivoted arms 9 and clamping-plates 13 adjustably connected therewith, as by screw and nut 14, 12, and a padlock 16, or other means, is provided for locking the arrangement about the valve casing. A chain 17 engaged with the lock 16 may also be secured to the pipe line, or the tank leg 18, to prevent the removal of the pipe line from the tank.
